Will grew up in the shadow of Wall Street and began his career there, first in high-yield credit, then in leveraged buyouts, investing and advising across the full capital structure of companies in sectors ranging from technology and healthcare to financial services and energy. That breadth of sectors and securities instilled a lasting appreciation for the craft of investing, a profession he came to love for the simplest of reasons: there is a scoreboard.
He joined Spark in 2015, shortly after the close of the firm's first growth fund, and invests in emerging category leaders at the Series B and C, particularly in AI, infrastructure, healthcare, and fintech. A student of capital allocation, market structure, and the long cycles of business history, he works to help technical, often first-time founders sharpen their command of the financial side of company-building.
Will graduated from Amherst College, where he studied History and captained the lacrosse team. He lives in Marin County and can usually be found riding the trails of Mt. Tamalpais, his dog River alongside.
His investments at Spark include Abridge, Baseten, Benchling, Discord, Handshake, Headway, Mercury, and Scale AI, among others.
