Marketing and Communications Partner

Rachael is the Marketing and Communications Partner at Spark Capital. She helps founders and their teams tell their stories in every stage of the company’s growth. She also works with the team at Spark to strengthen the startup community by connecting founders with each other and subject matter experts to share knowledge.

Previously, Rachael was the Director of Technology Communications at Facebook, Inc. where she led communications strategies for the core Facebook app which included the launch of new consumer experiences like 360 video and Live video. Rachael also oversaw the media partnerships communications strategy as well as the brand communications team at Facebook.

Rachael joined Facebook from Twitter, where she spent four years helping to build out the communications team and develop the marketing and communications strategy related to the product, consumer outreach and media content. Rachael joined Twitter when there were about 400 or so employees and helped to guide the company through massive growth and its initial public offering.

Prior to that, Rachael spent time at communications agencies including Cutline Communications and Fleishman-Hillard. Her primary client for over four years was Google where she supported the launch and ongoing communications for products that included Google Apps, Gmail, Android, Search and others. Rachael also spent a considerable amount of time focused exclusively on supporting the communications and policy team at YouTube. While at Fleishman-Hillard, Rachael was on the team that launched Zillow and also worked with startup clients like Flickr and del.icio.us.

Rachael was recently named as one of PR Week’s Innovation 50 and one of Business Insider’s best public relations people in the tech industry. She received her degree in Political Science and Program on the Environment from the University of Washington.
